Found in many households, classrooms and workplaces, the humble Blu Tack is a reusable putty-like adhesive that is commonly used to attach lightweight objects. Traditionally it is blue in colour however today it can be found in various other colours.
The composition is a non-soluble, synthetic rubber compound that is highly flexible and non-flammable. Below is a test we carried out to see what the detection sensitivity for detecting foreign contaminants would be for a compound like this.
The product is fed through our x-ray system via a conveyor, and was tested with a number of test card pieces. The results can be seen below.
